Update a Robotmaster WIBU License
This How-To article will show you how to use the WIBU SYSTEMS Auto Update feature of the Codemeter Central License Server.
The Auto Update process must happen on the computer that has the Robotmaster V7 license installed locally, with Robotmaster closed!
This process does not apply to a Network license PC that access the Robotmaster V7 license over the Local Area Network (LAN) from a Network License Server.
Updating a license
The Auto Update function is used whenever changes are made to a license.
EXAMPLE If a user purchases a Robotmaster Standard configuration and two months later the user upgrades to a Robotmaster Professional configuration, the auto-updater is used.
There are two methods to Auto Update a License:
Method 1
Go to the auto update page on the PC that has the WIBU license, and then click on Check License Update.
The auto update page link is: http://lc.codemeter.com/77357/depot/autoUpdate.php
Once on the Automatic License Update page, click on Check License Update.
Finally, click on “Transfer License Update Now”
The Automatic License Update Page will launch a small window that will show the status of the license transfer from the CodeMeter Central License server to the local PC.
To see the changes in your system, restart the CodeMeter Service (see below).
Method 2
Click on the license activation link, previously provided by your reseller.
This link was sent by your reseller, and, it is the same link that was used to activate the license.
The link must be opened in the computer where Robotmaster was activated.
Click on “Auto Update”:
Then click on “Check License Update”:
Finally, click on “Transfer License Update Now”
This will start license update process.
To see the changes in your system, restart the CodeMeter Service (see below).
Restarting the CodeMeter Service
Open the “CodeMeter Control Center” in your computer:
Open the Process Tab, and then click on Restart CodeMeter Service
This will cause the CodeMeter service to restart.
Once the CodeMeter Control Center says, “Codemeter service is running.” the license should be updated and operational.
Restarting the CodeMeter service is usually done when a license transfer fails, when a new license is added to the Container or when an existing license is updated in the container.
Restarting the CodeMeter service, as the name suggest, restarts the CodeMeter Service which could have been corrupted while transferring a license. Once the service is re-started, the user will be able to activate a new license or start the Re-Host of an existing one.
Restarting the CodeMeter service will also allow for any licensing changes to be visible to the user.
